Chilton Weather Edge Retaining Wall 5
This is a two tiered stone wall assembled in an ashlar style. The stone is Chilton Weather Edge with 50% Oakfield blended in to soften up the color. The slotted stones on the left side of the picture conceal drain openings that relieve water pressure from behind the wall. A 4″ diameter drain tile is set at the base behind the retaining walls to collect water and direct it to these openings . Water is the main reason retaining walls fail, large or small. Managing water is the most important thing we can to to ensure a long lasting installation. This project is located in the Langford Park neighborhood of Saint Paul.
