One Piece at a Time

Stay focused.  This is the only way to build a large stone wall.  Get the layout done, set the batter, from there it’s one piece at a time.  This project used four semi loads of Wisconsin Limestone.  We blended ‘Eden’, ‘Oakfield’, and ‘Chilton Weather Edge’ from Eden stone quarries. The stone was all split at 12″ deep we gridded the wall and used granular back fill. Note the steps, we always try and build a wall on top of the stone risers so everything is integrated, this not only looks better but is a stronger way to build.
