Flagstone Puzzle

Were you good at puzzles when you were a kid? is a question I’m often asked.  Setting a flagstone patio is a bit like a giant puzzle but the installer is control of the composition.  The rules are space large pieces throughout the patio, don’t run seems any longer than needed, and never have more than three points come together.  Lastly resist the temptation to stick a tiny piece in to fill that last hole. (We all break these rules once in a while) This Patio is in the Crocus Hill neighborhood of St Paul.  The stone is quartzite with a historic street brick border and walk.
